Audio

Windows (Audio):

  • Always use highest bit depth possible to you (16-bit, 24-bit, 32-bit)

  • For playback, use 48khz.

    • 99% of audio is distributed in 44.1khz (downsampling for 44.1khz but maintaining perfect quality when you do come across 48khz content. Downsampling OK, Upsampling GTFO).

      • Untick all options under "Exclusive mode" in the "Advanced" tab

  • If you passthrough your audio, sync up the bit-depth and sample rates to the highest possible.

    • I.E. Passthrough is limited to 24-bit 48khz but you can do 32-bit 384khz

      • Place all on 24-bit 48khz

      • Nvidia Broadcast is a perfect example of this but also not, it will auto resample your audio to 16-bit 44.1khz.

  • Playback and recording can be on seperate bit-depths and sample rates

    • Personally:

      • Playback (DAC): 32-bit 192khz

      • Recording (AMP): 2 channel 24-bit 96khz
